Golestan Palace

Golestan Palace belongs to a group of royal palaces inside the walls of Tehran citadel during the Safavid era. During the Qajar era, Golestan Palace became the official residency of the king. National Museum of Iran

The National Museum of Iran is the most significant archeological and historical museum in the country and one of the must-see Tehran points of interest. Also, it is the Reference Museum or the Mother Museum for all museums in Iran. Accordingly, about 300,000 objects from different eras, the Paleolithic to the contemporary, are in this museum. Accordingly, the oldest work preserved in this museum presents the most former indication of human presence on the Iranian plateau dates back to about 600,000 years ago. Treasury of National Jewels (National Jewelry Museum)

Jewelry Museum is one of the best museums in Iran located in the basement of Iran Central Bank in Tehran. you can find some of the finest, most precious, and beautiful jewelry in Iran and even in the world. One of the Jewels that make this museum, one of the significant Tehran attractions is Daryaye Noor Diamond. It is one of the largest diamonds with 182 carats in weight.  Also, this stunning piece of Jewel is the largest pink diamond in the world. Tehran Grand Bazaar

Tabiat Bridge

Tabiat Pedestrian Bridge is one of the modern Tehran points of interest and recreation centers. Notably, the construction of the bridge took 4 years and finished in 2014, its built area is 7680 sqm, and its length is 270 meters. Moreover, this contemporary structure connects Taleghani and Abo Atash Park over Modarres Highway. Saad Abad Complex

The Saadabad Complex, with an area of 110 hectares, stands in the foothills of Darband in the Shemiran area of Tehran. Nowadays, the complex consists of 18 palaces, halls, and museums in a gorgeous garden and is one of the top Tehran points on interest. During the Qajar Dynasty in the 19th and 20th centuries, this complex was used as the royal family’s summer palaces. Two of these palaces, called the White Palace and the Green Palace, are open to visitors.

Moreover, there are several museums in Saadabad Complex, such as the Farshchian Museum, Melat Museum (Nation Museum), and the Museum of the Royal Automobiles. Sardar-e Bagh-e Meli (The National Garden Transom)

The National Garden is a historical and governmental complex surrounded by several museums such as the Malek National Museum,  National Museum of Iran, and The Post & Communications Museum. This garden belongs to the Qajar era, and its fantastic entrance gate was constructed in 1906. Tall pillars and delicate tile-works decorate this brick gate called Sardar-e Bagh-e Meli. It is interesting to know that this monument used to be Tehran’s symbol before the Azadi Tower, and now it is one of the remarkable Tehran points of interest.

Azadi Tower

Azadi Tower, one of the must-see Tehran attractions, is the symbol of the capital of Iran. It is an inverted-V-shaped edifice made of white snow marble and dates back to about 50 years ago. Its amazing architecture is inspired by the Achaemenid, Sassanid and Islamic architectures. Notably, Azadi Tower is the symbol of Iran’s history and heritage mixed with contemporary art. Carpet Museum of Iran

The Carpet Museum of Iran, located next to Laleh Park, is one of the must-see Tehran attractions. This fantastic museum was created by Farah Diba, the last queen of Iran, and was established in 1979. The exterior design of this two-story museum’s building resembles a loom for weaving carpeting and represents contemporary architecture. Also, the museum exhibits a variety of Persian rugs, Klim, carpets, and more from all over the country such as Tehran, Kerman, Isfahan, Tabriz, Kashan, and Mashhad. Niavaran Complex

Niavaran Palace, located in the north of Tehran, used to be the royal residence during Qajar and Pahlavi dynasties and now is one of the top Tehran points of interest. With an area of 9,000 square meters, the complex consists of palaces and museums in a vast garden. Accordingly, the three main palaces in the complex are Niavaran Palace, Sahebgharanieh Palace, and Koshk-e Ahmad Shahi. The famous artists applied delicate mirror-work and plasterworks, and stained glass to decorate these palaces.

Glassware & Ceramic Museum of Iran (Abgineh Museum of Tehran)

Glassware and Ceramic Museum, also known as Abgineh Museum, is one of the interesting Tehran attractions located in the vicinity of the National Museum of Iran. The building is a lovely 90-year old house that used to be the embassy of Egypt for a short time and has become a museum in 1980. Milad Tower

Milad Tower, also known as Tehran Tower, is a 435 m high building stands at the northwest of Tehran and is visible from almost all parts of the city. This multi-purpose skyscraper is the world’s sixth-tallest tower and the 24th-highest freestanding structure in the world. Tochal

Tochal recreational complex is a mountainous area located in the north of the city.  The complex provides one of the best ski resorts globally while it is a popular hiking destination in the months with no snowfall. In terms of location, about a 20-kilometer from Tehran city center, Tochal is the nearest ski resort to the capital. Also, with an approximate altitude of 4000m, Tochal Ski Resort is the fifth-highest resort and has one of the world’s longest cable cars. Darband

Darband is a green mountainous area in the north of the capital, one of the best places in Tehran to go trekking, hiking, and get away from the capital’s chaotic. Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA)

Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art (TMoCA) was established in 1977 on Kargar street near the carpet museum of Tehran and Laleh Park. This museum is one of the grandest art museums in Tehran, and Iran, with the most extensive collection of contemporary art, belongs to the 19th and 20th centuries.
